The School of Business Environment (SBE) is a specialized vertical within IICA promoting the responsible business conduct focusing on the forward-looking areas of Environmental-Social-Governance (ESG), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Sustainable Finance, Business & Biodiversity Conservation, Business and Human Rights, Responsible Trade, Non-Financial Reporting & Audit and other aligned areas. The School has been providing technical expertise to various Ministries and Agencies of the Govt. of India, State Governments, Corporates, Board Members, professionals and other stakeholders through the research studies, policy inputs and advocacy, advisory services, academic programmes, customized capacity building programmes etc. Few of the important contribution of the School includes developing the National Guidelines on Responsible Business Conduct (NGRBC), Zero Draft of National Action Plan (NAP) on Business & Human Rights, and technical inputs to the High Level Committees on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the Ministry of Corporate Affairs

SoBE - IICA will be hosting a comprehensive three-day event spanning from 4th - 6th September 2024. The key highlight of the event is a two-day "National Conference on Responsible Business Conduct", dedicated to fostering knowledge sharing, policy discussions, and collaborative endeavors aimed at advancing responsible and sustainable business practices in India. This conference will be followed by a “Workshop on Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR)”, scheduled with the objective of building the capacity of professionals in the domains of sustainability reporting and responsible business conduct.
NCRBC 2024 will enable businesses to willingly and enthusiastically accept and integrate ESG into core business philosophy, policies, practices, and processes. It will also provide a platform for businesses to address challenges in connection with global issues such as climate change, destruction of natural resources, human rights, resilience, etc. to leverage ESG for the long-term good of the business, its stakeholders, and society.
The conference will be followed by a Workshop on Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) scheduled with the objective of building the capacity of professionals in the domains of sustainability reporting and responsible business conduct. The aim of the workshop would be to empower participants with the expertise needed for proficient BRSR compliance.
