Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs

IICA is an autonomous institute under the aegis of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. It provides induction and training to the central civil servants of the Indian Corporate Law Service Cadre. It is a unique world-class institution functioning as a holistic think tank and service delivery institute in the areas of action research, policy advocacy, service delivery, and capacity-building support to the government, corporate sector, professionals, and related stakeholders

School of Business Environment

The School of Business Environment (SoBE) at Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), has a mandate to work in the areas of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), and BHR (Business and Human Rights). The School intends to create knowledge through applied and conceptual research, relevant to the policymakers, business ecosystem, and society along with its underlying disciplines, and to disseminate such knowledge through publications and capacity-building programs. The School provides technical support to the Government, Corporates, and other stakeholders in policy and implementation-related issues. The school has contributed to the development of various key policies and guidelines like National Guidelines for Responsible Business Conduct (NGRBC), Zeroth Draft of the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights, Technical Inputs to the High-Level Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility, etc.

SoBE - IICA will be hosting a comprehensive three-day event spanning from December 14th to December 16th, 2023. The key highlight of the event is a two-day "National Conference on Responsible Business Conduct", dedicated to fostering knowledge sharing, policy discussions, and collaborative endeavors aimed at advancing responsible and sustainable business practices in India. Concurrently, an "ESG Best Practices" Exhibition will provide exhibitors with a valuable platform to showcase their exemplary initiatives. This conference will be followed by a “Workshop on Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR)”, scheduled with the objective of building the capacity of professionals in the domains of sustainability reporting and responsible business conduct.

NCRBC 2023 will enable businesses to willingly and enthusiastically accept and integrate ESG into core business philosophy, policies, practices, and processes. It will also provide a platform for businesses to address challenges in connection with global issues such as climate change, destruction of natural resources, human rights, resilience, etc. to leverage ESG for the long-term good of the business, its stakeholders, and society.

Objectives of the Exhibition

    The overall objectives of the exhibition are -

  2. To recognize the innovative, sustainable, replicable, and scalable initiatives and share the knowledge pertaining to the same with Practitioners
  3. To serve the purpose of motivating all stakeholders involved to continue the commendable work
  4. To provide a platform for the exchange of innovative ideas through ESG Best Practices

WHO CAN EXHIBIT

    Registered companies under the Companies Act, 2013 / LLP Act 2008 / Partnership Firms / Proprietorship / MSME /other Companies are eligible to submit their application for consideration for the exhibition.

    A total of 40 stalls(5 stalls are reserved for MSMEs) will be provided for the exhibitors to showcase their ESG activities.

Criteria for selection

    The applications received for the Exhibition should fulfill at least one of the criteria given below-

  1. ESG initiatives highlight innovative approaches in addressing identified problems.
  2. ESG initiatives that have had a significant influence in bringing about behavioral change in the community
  3. ESG initiatives that have incorporated the Sustainability of the interventions effectively
  4. Convergence of ESG initiatives with the Global/National/Local Developmental Goals such as SDGs
  5. Consideration of the consistency of the activities and impact of the ESG initiatives
