Dr. Sameer Sharma, Director General, IICA hoisted the Indian National Flag on 72^nd Republic Day at the IICA Campus. Dr. Sharma expressed his thoughts about the significance of Republic Day celebration. The speech was well received by the audience with applause and appreciation.

The Hon'ble Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu virtually released the book titled ‘A Textbook of Urban Planning and Geography’ authored by Dr. Sameer Sharma, Director General of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs in Hyderabad on 20 January, 2021.

Guillen who was invited by IICA-KRC on the virtual platform of webex to discuss on his book 2030: HOW TODAY’S BIGGEST TRENDS WILL COLLIDE AND RESHAPE THE FUTURE OF EVERYTHING " a Wall Street Journal bestseller, and a Financial Times Best Book of the Year. Truly an insightful and interesting session with a lot of predictions globally for the future .John Steinbeck quote, featured in the concluding chapter of Mauro F. Guillén’s is quite apt. He mentioned that Ideas are like rabbits. You get a couple and learn how to handle them, and pretty soon you have a dozen.”

2030 is full of hypotheses and projections about the state of the world. He discussed how the human population will look vastly different by 2030. While discussing he also mentioned the predictions regarding two biggest markets globally i.e. Europe and US that are going to be captured by other two countries i.e. China and India.

Prof Guillen is the holder of the Zandman Endowed Professorship in International Management at the Wharton School. He served as Director of the Lauder Institute of Management & International Studies between 2007 and 2019. He received a PhD in sociology from Yale University and a Doctorate in political economy from the University of Oviedo in his native Spain.

He is a trustee of the Royal Foundation of Spain, a member of the advisory board of few organisations and serves on advisory groups at the World Economic Forum.

The author speaks is a series initiated by IICA-KRC. The discussion was well attended by the students, Faculty and the IDs.

Graduate Insolvency Programme Admission Prospectus of 2021 was launched on 20th January 2021 by Dr M.S Sahoo - Chairperson, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India in presence of Dr. Sameer Sharma - DG CEO of IICA, Mr. Abizer Diwanji – Honorary Course Director GIP, Mr.Vijaykumar Iyer- Senior Director, Deloitte , Dr. Neeti Shikha – Head ,Centre of Insolvency and Bankruptcy and Dr. Pyla .N. Rao – Associate Professor, IICA.

Harish Chander, Partner at ASA Legal, conducted a session on the topic of "Introduction to ARCs and their Business Models & Profitability Profile". He spoke about the basic structure of Asset Reconstruction Companies (ARCs) and also discussed the parameters that are used to evaluate a bad loan before it is acquired by an ARC.

Capstone Exercise, of the 2nd batch of Graduate Insolvency Programme presented various resolution plans for Dewan Housing Finance Limited (India's first FSP - CIRP case) detailing possible resolution alternatives along with fundraising options, negotiation with Committee of Creditors of DHFL and representation before Adjudicating Authority. Additional element was added in the exercise of filing a withdrawal application under section 12A of the IBC. The exercise was adjudged by Dr M. S. Sahoo - Chairperson, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India; Mr Subramaniakumar R - Administrator, DHFL; Mr Abizer Diwanji – National Head, Financial Services, EY India; Mr Bahram Vakil - Founder & Partner, AZB & Partners and Mr. Anurag Das - MD & CEO, International Asset Reconstruction Company.

Alumni meet is a monthly programme where the alumni of IICA participate and interacted with their fellow colleagues . This month Mr R S Krishnaswamy was invited to speak on “Leveraging CSR to Leave No One Behind”. The Coordinator Dr Lata Suresh -Head KRC welcomed the participants. Dr Garima Dadhich- Head NFCSR moderated the session. The session was well attended by Alumnus of IICA.
