The Centre for MSME, IICA has successfully conducted Virtual (Online) Capacity Building Programme on “Corporate Affairs” from 18th November 2020 - 1st December, 2020 (12 Webinars). The programme was designed to provide intensive training to the Senior Level Officers including officers working on Board Positions at the level of CEO, Director, Managing Director, GM, Advisor and Finance Secretary in the various Departments / State Public Sector undertakings to provide insights on major issues like Provisions of Companies Act, 2013, Best practices and guidance of Corporate Governance, Key concepts of Goods and Service Tax (GST), Guidelines on FEMA, RBI & SEBI, Merger & Acquisition (M&A), Overview of CSR Provisions, EoDB, IBC Code, SMEs and Start-ups Ecosystem, Capital Market and Security Laws, Emerging Alternate Dispute Resolution Mechanism etc.

The programme organized by the IICA through its Centre for MSME witnessed engaged participation from 21 Professionals (CEO, Director, Managing Director, GM, Advisor and Finance Secretary) involved in identification prioritizing of risk at functional level and drawing mitigation plan & monitoring of implementation. The participants from Uttarakhand State Govt. informed that they have to engage with external Advisors (Auditors, Consultants, Law Firms etc.) so as to understand all the corporate governance norms and Risk management practices and develop an implementation plan.

A total of twelve (12) online webinars covered the pertinent areas under Provisions of Companies Act, 2013, Financial Auditing and Role of Auditors, Power and Duties of Board of Directors, Existing Guidelines on FEMA, RBI & SEBI, Merger & Acquisition (M&A), Overview of CSR Provisions, EoDB, IBC Code, SMEs and Start-ups Ecosystem, Capital Market and Security Laws, Emerging Alternate Dispute Resolution Mechanism etc.

The participants appreciated the programme content, faculty and training sessions.

Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) concluded a three Days Online Program on Corporate Governance from 18th Nov to 20th Nov 2020. The program was conducted by School of Corporate Governance and Public Policy, IICA.

The program is an In Company program exclusively designed for National Bank Staff College of NABARD for the Senior / Middle level officers of NABARD for their professional development and to make them board ready as a Nominee Directors for the institutions NABARD has stakes.

The focus aspects of the program design were compliance, governance and performance related aspects for helping the participants learn about the regulatory framework and the challenges of the VUCA world and help them learn the means and ways to draw a road map for converting the challenges to opportunities using the tacit knowledge based on praxis. The also aims to develop thought leadership in the personality of the officers.

The program was offered by IICA faculty with support from eminent industry experts discussing the aspects from 360 degree perspectives while acknowledging that the country is marching towards sustainable growth rate and eyeing to emerge as a developed nation having intensive focus on ease of doing business and resilient business sector. The program acknowledged that the developmental process has multiple contours of development and provides enormous opportunities for the companies to emerge as a global industry leader by revisiting their business models especially for minimization of the cost, enhancement of research and innovation initiatives in an integrated manner for not just pushing the profits up but also contributing significantly towards the developmental imperatives of the nation for coming decade.

The Program engaged with the participants on developing their conceptual & practice orientation the subject while helping them assess their present leadership levels and the way forward to take it the next higher level.

Ramachandran, who was instrumental in the process of the Launch of the Achariya Entrepreneurship Development Cell (AEDC) in collaboration with AIC-PECF (Atal Incubation Centre - Pondicherry Engineering College Foundation) to accept invitation as Chief Guest and deliver key note address on Theme : “Fly Beyond the Idea” for inauguration of the virtual Launch of Achariya Entrepreneurship Development Cell in collaboration with Atal Incubation Centre – Pondicherry Engineering College Foundation on Thursday, 26 November 2020 at 9.30 AM.

Mr. Rajesh Batra, Head Centre for MSME, IICA accepted the invitation and inaugurated the virtual launch of Entrepreneurship Development Cell, on 26th November, 2020 at 9.30 am.

Mr. Batra was welcomed by Dr S. Ramachandran, COO - Achariya Group of Educational Institutions and was invited by him to deliver key note address. In his key note address, Mr. Rajesh Batra highlighted Initiatives of the Govt. of India to boost entrepreneurship including new start-ups. He narrated about utilizing the strength of the MSME Sector and new Start-ups, and how it would prove crucial in stepping up the rate of production apart from cutting down on the cost and time, under the ‘Make in India’ initiatives. Mr. Batra also emphasised for Encouraging young entrepreneurs & revamping of skill development & capacity building programmes as well as Development of incubation startup highway. He accentuated the detailed thought process and knowledge sharing through active participation, coordination and collaboration of Government, MSMEs and Private sector for ensuring success with concerted efforts by Government to Act as Catalyst, Facilitate and Provide conducive business environment, by MSMEs to Innovate, Automate, Adopt ICT and by Private Sector to Support MSMEs, Mentor MSMEs and Increase participation of MSMEs in the supply chain.
