The IICA Knowledge Resource Centre in collaboration with Clarivate Analytics organized demonstration of Web of Science (WoS) for the faculty, Students, Staff , PhD Scholars IICA , ICLS, CRC on 18th of Feb from 3.00 pm to 4:30pm. More than 300+ institutions in India like IIT’s & IISc, IISER’s, Universities-Public and Private, CSIR institutions, DST institutions, ICMR institutions, MoES institutions including private institutes and Universities leverage Web of Science for research.
The programme was moderated by Dr Lata Suresh- Head, Knowledge Resource centre and briefed about Web of Science. The programme was attended by the faculty, staff and PhD research scholars at IICA

The Knowledge Resource Centre has scheduled a demo on Ebooks and Press Reader Collection on Friday 25th, February 2022 from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
Dr Lata Suresh- Head- Knowledge Resource Centre , Moderator while welcoming the guests informed that PERLEGO is the World’s largest aggregator of ebooks featuring over 8 Lakh Titles from 1008+ top publishers of the world including Wiley, Taylor and Francis, Cambridge University Press, Oxford, Elsevier, Bloomsbury, De Gruyter, Springer, CRC, Routledge, Sage, Harper Collins and many more. Perlego has been adopted by 100s of libraries and is a recipient of many awards including EdTechX 2020. The demo was presented by Mr Mohit Sharma. He informed that this product has been adopted by many Govt and private institutes although, this product was launched in July 2021.
Press Reader: Another product demonstrated on February 25th, 2022 was of Press Reader. Due to the Covid19 pandemic, one of the severely hit industries is NEWS. Many print newspapers are not publishing in print due to an over 87% drop in advertising budgets. Since the circulation of print newspapers has still not recovered, library users tend to consume news on unreliable sources like FB, Whatsapp. In order to build on the eReading culture at IICA, protect users from fake news and keep them updated with the latest developments, Pressreader - World's Largest Aggregator of eNews and eMagazines was approached. A demo was organized for the faculty and staff of IICA by the Authorized Distributor of "Pressreader. Mr Mohit Sharma while presenting informed that with PressReader (https://www.pressreader.com), users gets access to more than 7,000 of the most renowned Indian & International News Publications (Hindu, TOI, HT, ET, Washington Post) and Popular magazines (Forbes, India Today, Popular Science, etc). as soon as they’re available on shelves.
Both the sessions were appreciated by the faculty and staff members of IICA and A trial version has been setup for both the database.

The KRC has subscribed to the Anti-Plagiarism Software Urkund , which is an easy to use, efficient and reliable plagiarism checker that lets you check uploaded documents for text similarities against millions of sources. The Software has been recommended by the faculty members for renewal and the same is under process.
