In the series of Author talk the Knowledge Resource Centre has organized and invited Dr H C Mruthunjaya on June 23rd through virtual mode for discussing his book “Knowledge Management”.

Dr Mruthyunjaya was formerly a research scientist at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. He has over 35 years of professional experience in the fields of R&D, technology and knowledge management. He has also authored over 50 review articles in various areas of Quality Management and Business Management, including invitation articles on Technology Management and Knowledge Management. He was the India-Industry Nodal Point for a UNIDO Sponsored Indo-France, University-Industry-Research Institution (Participants: A French University, North Maharashtra University-Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd.-National Chemical Laboratory) Joint project on Development of Bio-Degradable Polymers; He was invited by UNIDO to contribute an article for a special issue on “Managing High Technology” to be brought out by The International Journal of Technology Management; He is officially recognised external research guide for doctoral students of North Maharashtra University in plastics technology area.

With his expertise, he has authored 4 books and several articles in reputed journals. The programme was organized in association with PHI Learning, who are the publisher of the book.

While discussing about the book he stressed on Knowledge management systems that can exist within organizations or teams, but they can also be used to center your knowledge base for your users or customers. The organization, capture, use, and analysis of the impact of a group's collective knowledge. In the business world, the definition of knowledge management also includes the maintenance of a knowledge base or portal where specific knowledge related to the company is housed. Only a few initiatives can truly transform how an organization operates, and knowledge management is one of them. He also touched upon the important of CSR.

The ability to access the right knowledge at the right time, via a robust knowledge management system, informs accurate decision-making and stimulates collaboration and innovation.

Knowledge stands for the cause for an action. He also shared how knowledge can be helpful and have huge potential to generate wealth for the society.

His chapter’s emphasis on how different combinations of the ten basic principles are put to work in different situations or way to success.

The programme was attended by large number of participants from India and abroad.

KRC, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) – has adopted My Library On Fingertips (MyLoft) application to provide seamless connectivity to eResources. With the implementation of MyLoft App, students, research scholars and faculty members of IICA are being benefited. All the e-resources subscribed by KRC are now accessible to the students, researchers and faculty members. The app allows the users to access, preserve and share e-content anytime and from anywhere.

The MyLoft App was launched through a virtual ceremony organized on Friday, September 4, 2020 by DG & CEO -Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Manesar.

My Library on Fingertips (MyLOFT), is a mobile and web app that enables users to discover, access, save and organize library subscribed eResources and digital content of professional and personal interests at one place. The app also facilitates students, researchers, faculties, and library officials to organize and manage subscribed eResources from a single location.

The Knowledge Resource Centre has organized a training session on June 21st, 2021 on the Mobile App “MY LIBRARY ON FINGERTIPS” (MYLOFT). The scheduled training was organized to help the staff, students, and officers to acquaint with the new technology adopted by the KRC.

The usage and the features of the App were elaborated to the users.

The programme was jointly organized by IICA-KRC and Eclat Engineering Pvt. Ltd. Team.

During the prevailing Covid -19 pandemic, officers and employees of IICA refreshed themselves physically and mentally by performing yoga on the 7th International Yoga Day. IICA encourages its employees to practice yoga for a balanced, healthy & stress free lifestyle. IICA conducts daily yoga sessions on the campus under the stewardship of DG & CEO, IICA.

Dr. Krishnamurthy Subramanian, Chief Economic Advisor to Government of India addressed the members of FOIR during 22nd AGM of FOIR held on 18th June, 2021. Dr. Krishnamurthy's address was on the theme "Role of Regulation in Fostering Markets" where he stressed on the need of competition and innovation along with ways to foster pro-market behaviour.

FOIR Centre at IICA successfully organized the 22nd Annual General Body Meeting of FOIR on 18th June, 2021 on online medium. The meeting was chaired by Dr. M.S. Sahoo, Hon. Chairperson, Forum of Indian Regulators (FOIR) and Chairperson, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI). Dr. Krishnamurthy Subramanian, Chief Economic Advisor to Government of India graced the gathering with his presence and address on "Role of Regulation in Fostering Markets". Followed by his presentation, Mr. Reji Kumar Pillai from India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF), a Public Private Partnership initiative of Ministry of Power (MoP), Government of India presented on Design of robust time of use framework for electricity tariff & New revenue opportunities for discoms. The members discussed several agendas including budget, governing body members, activities undertaken by FOIR Centre at IICA and proposals for the FY 2021-2022.

Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs successfully on boarded the third batch of Graduate Insolvency Programme. GIP admission process was conducted online, candidates who were eligible after the written proctor exam appeared for group discussion and then personal interviews under the supervision of the industry experts from different domains and expertise. The Orientation of the batch will be conducted from July 1st to July 5th, 2021

Two days session was conducted by Mr Pankaj Choudhary (KKR) on Private Credit market. Session was navigated through the requirements of credit providers, the existing challenges in the system and the considerations that go into evaluating an opportunity, arriving at the true picture behind the numbers through various concepts and case studies.

The session was also enlightened by Ms. Jaya singh, Mr. Ankur Maheshwari (Equirus Wealth), Mr. Tushar Chaudhary (UVARC) sharing their practical experiences thereby making the exercise more insightful.

Centre for Independent Directors, IICA organized Power Talk with Mr. Harsh Mariwala: Improving Board Effectiveness program for the members of Independent Director’s Databank on Friday 04th June, 2021.

The main objective of this event was to highlight the different creative approaches to improve effectiveness of Board member’s functionality.

The Program commenced on 04th June, 2021 at 04:00 PM with the theme address of Dr. Niraj Gupta, Head, School of Corporate Governance and Public Policy & Nodal Officer, Centre for Independent Director, IICA. He briefed the participants about Mr. Harsh Mariwala and the importance of Directors in corporate governance.

Principal speaker:

Mr. Mariwala leads Marico Limited as its Chairman. He is also Chairman & Managing Director of Kaya Limited. Mr.Mariwala’s passion for innovation, enthused him to establish the Marico Innovation Foundation in 2003 which works towards nurturing innovations in India. In 2012, Mr. Mariwala started ASCENT Foundation, a peer-learning entrepreneurial platform. Sharrp Ventures is the Family Office of the Harsh Mariwala Family. He also founded the Mariwala Health Initiative (MHI) in 2015, with the philanthropic aim of giving back to society. Mr. Mariwala was recently bestowed the EY Entrepreneur of the year award 2020 for India which is the world's most prestigious business award for entrepreneurs.

Mr. Mariwala shared his experience on practical aspects of board effectiveness which he witnessed as board member. How board members can use their core competencies in value creation for the organization. Optimum structuring of board committees and functioning were also part of the discussion.

There were lots of questions from participants and Mr. Harsh Mariwala gave answers to all these queries with the satisfaction of the participants.

Program concluded with the valedictory address of remarks of Dr. Niraj Gupta, Head, School of Corporate Governance and Public Policy & Nodal Officer, Centre for Independent Director, IICA. Centre for Independent Directors coordinated the event and ensured successful delivery of the program.
